job evaluation

Document Actions

A process of evaluating and establishing parity between the work undertaken in different employment areas within a local authority. For example a seamstress might have a wall washer as her "comparator". The two grades are then supposed to receive equal pay. The job evaluation is usually carried out by the local authority in consultation with the trade unions.
